2025 April NL: Council Minutes

Present: Pastor Chris Byars, Miles Winkler, Vern Dahlstrom, Bill Block, Tracy Ondik, Betty Jane Baranczyk
Absent: Graham Fisette

1) The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
2) Devotions were led by Pastor Chris
3) Motion to approve agenda with following additions by Betty Jane, Tracy, MSC
a. 10a: Church Anniversary
b. 9d: Tithely giving
4) Communications from attendees and correspondence: none
5) Motion to approve secretary’s report by Betty Jane, Vern, MSC
6) Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report by Vern, Bill, MSC
7) Pastor’s Report
a. Becoming Class: Sunday, March 23
b. We will host Soup & Scripture on March 26
c. Monday night Bible Study is going well
8) Team/Organization Items for Council Action
a. Property & Cemetery – Electrical Issue: The flood light is shorting out and the Eternal Flame as well. Claire is calling Kallies Electric in hopes of repairing it.
b. Facia and soffit also needs repairing. Miles will call the insurance company regarding the wind damage.
c. Finance Team – April 13 – Quarterly Report: The Finance Team would like Betty Jane at their April 13 meeting along with a quarterly report
9) Old Business
a. Easter Breakfast: Sharon Raatz has offered to chair this event.
b. Clock Repairs: Gary Lisowe has taken the motor to Antigo for repairs
c. Carillon: It is still not working
d. Tithely: We need to make sure this is included in the monthly giving report sent to Betty Jane
10)New Business
a. August 23, 2025 is the 5 year anniversary of Pastor Chris’ Letter of Call to our congregation and October 1, 2025 will be the 5 year anniversary of his Installation. We will plan a pot luck party on August 31, 2025 to celebrate!
11)Miscellaneous
a. Updates on HWY 22 & Cemetery Fence from Jerry Luther: We are working on getting some sections delivered from Century Fence to us to repair ourselves. The total amount we can expect from the state for the Highway 22 Project is $13,200 ($5,700 for the parking lot and $7,500 for the land).
