1) Meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
2) Devotions: Chris Byars
3) Motion to approve agenda with the following additions by Tracy, Bill, MSC
a. Add 11a: Piano
b. Add 11b: Betty Jane mail key
4) Communications from attendees and correspondence
a. Rachel reported for CYF: getting ready for VBS
5) Motion to approve Secretary’s Report by Graham, Betty Jane, MSC.
6) Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report by Micki, Graham, MSC
a. Tracy commented on 6-month CDs interest is pretty good right now.
7) Pastor’s Report
a. Discussion on church “awareness” and attendees with special needs/attention. We need to look into how to handle situations that arise.
b. Pastor is working on a new curriculum for Confirmation. He presented “Becoming: A Family of Faith” A1: The Ten Commandments
8) Team/Organization Items for Council Action: none
a. Women of the Church are getting quotes to clean the carpets and discussing getting new carpet.
b. Stewardship & Evangelism is hosting an Ice Cream Social on Sunday, July 13.
9) Old Business
a. Carillon: Miles is working on getting quotes from various companies. He is recommending the quote from Verdin Bells & Clocks for Verdin Supreme Touch Digital Carillon with cloud router and 250 watt amp for $11,590.00. Motion to order the new carillon by Micki, Bill, MSC.
b. Highway 22 Update: No start date yet, but we got a letter from WE Energies regarding temporarily shutting off natural gas. Miles suggested taking pictures before any work is done.
c. Genke Cross: Property doesn’t feel we can put it in the field. We are still deciding what to do with it.
d. Pastor Chris’s 5-year anniversary is coming up. We are planning a mid-October potluck celebration after a worship service.
10) New Business
a. Insurance: Miles and Jerry are working on getting some other quotes as Church Mutual is increasing significantly. Focus on Energy will be coming to church to check our electrical systems on May 28. Church Mutual is requesting the sanctuary slate roof be repaired. Miles suggested having a roofer inspect the roof so we know how bad or good the roof is.
11) Miscellaneous: none
a. At the All-Team meeting, it was suggested that we donate the old piano in the Fellowship Hall to Orphan Grain Train. Motion to offer it to anyone in the congregation and offer it to Orphan Grain Train is no one shows interest by Tracy, Bill, MSC.
