2026 May NL: Stewardship & Evangelism Team Minutes

April 6 at 5:00 p.m.

Present: Mel Reichwald, Darrell Ruege, Ruth Boyd, Dawn Byars

Chris opened the meeting with a joint prayer between Stewardship and  Evangelism and Worship

Dawn read the minutes from the February meeting as there was no S&E Meeting in March

Business Discussed:
1. 40 Days of Prayer Recap: we will revisit if we are feeling called to do this again next year. It did seem to be less enthusiastically received this year. Even our team was spotty on getting kindness acts done.
2. Easter Prayer Vigil: we’re all in agreement that the Prayer Room needs to take place in the Sanctuary from now on, as the atmosphere was so much more meaningful. We all like the idea of keeping it as a 12 hour Easter Vigil as well.
3. The Prayer Crosses are a HUGE blessing! We’re going to keep the basket out in the Narthex from now on for people to take as they wish. Darrell will keep it stocked for as long as he can.
4. Cantata starts tomorrow. Ruth Boyd agreed to fill the final spot needed as a reception host on the Tuesday, April 14th performance. Darrel and Jan are hosting tomorrow with Laura.
5. We are on the April 26th 4th Sunday Fellowship. We’ll each bring a treat, Dawn will bring Milk and Chocolate Milk. Mel and Darrel will set up before hand.

Talking Points for Future Meetings:
1. 4th of July Float: we need to coordinate with CYF to make sure we have a float. There was talk that the person we had been using the float from might be selling this year?
2. Ice Cream Social: we’re thinking we’d like to do it along with the church picnic and VBS wrap-up. Mel will talk to the homemade ice cream vendor we were looking to use last year before his wife’s illness.
3. The fair booth and bake sales will be in the fall.
