2026 June NL: Stewardship & Evangelism Team Minutes

May 4 at 5:00 p.m.

Present: Mel Reichwald, Darrel Ruege, Ruth Boyd Dawn Byars, Pastor Chris Byars

Mel opened the meeting with a prayer for the growing season from Portals of Prayer.

Business Discussed:

• 4th Sunday Fellowship: S&E hosted the first one of the year in April and it did go very well. We had a good amount of people stay and grab a treat. Council will host in May.
• Ice Cream Social: Mel talked to Robert Davis and he is on board to provide ice cream for the church picnic
  • S&E decided to hold the social as an offering/fellowship opportunity rather than a fundraiser
• 4th of July Float: Dawn contacted Sydnie Patzer to check in about getting the trailer to use again. Since Meeting: Dawn has contact info and will pass on at the next S&E Meeting to get pick up and storage planned out.
• Fair Booth: form filled out during the meeting to be turned in to Betty Jane
  • We will plan again to have the Volleyball poles for the banner
  • We will again plan to pass out Thrivent shirts, candy, and literature
  • We will check with Ruth Milhans to see about getting another cross for a drawing
    • With the drawing this year, we will collect the data to use for a Christmas mailing
• We would like to get a list of members that haven’t been to church in a while to send out an invite to the Church Picnic
  • Dawn will create an invite to show the rest of the group at the next meeting
  • Chris will work with Rachel to get an inactive members list pulled
• Basement Project: we talked about ideas on getting people excited to shine up the basement and make it a more welcoming space, especially in light of needing to make some repairs
  • Council and the Property team are researching what we need to fix the initial problems
  • S&E is talking about a fundraiser focused on functionality and beautifying the space
