2026 August NL: Stewardship & Evangelism Team Minutes

June 29 at 5:00 p.m.

Present: Mel Reichwald, Darrel Ruege, Ruth Boyd, Dawn Byars, Pastor Chris Byars

Mel opened the meeting with a prayer.
Dawn read the minutes from the last meeting.

Business Discussed

• 4th of July Parade: Darrell has the trailer. We will coordinate with Rachel on when to decorate. She has all the decorations ready.
• Ice Cream Social:
  • Mel finalized everything with Robert Davies. He’ll be providing 3 gallons of ice cream and will come to set up sometime after 11:00am on July 26th.
  • We will put out a basket with a sign that states that any donations will go to help cover cost of the ice cream and to start a Basement Improvement Fund. Ruth Boyd has also offered to create a picnic raffle basket as well.
  • The group approved the design for the postcard. Dawn will get Rachel to print 100 of them. We have around 75 people from the inactive list to mail to. Dawn will address and work with Rachel to get them mailed out. We’ll also plan to give one to each VBS parent at registration.
  • The S&E Team will take care of toppings: Darrell and Jan – Strawberries and Maple Syrup; Chris and Dawn – Caramel Sauce, Whipped Cream; Ruth – Hot Fudge
  • Mel will contact OJ’s to get a $30 gift certificate to give to Robert Davies as a thank you.
• Oconto County Fair: August 25-30.
  • We have a Cross from Ruth Milhans and Thrivent Shirts from the Simpson Benefit Team.
  • Chris will apply for a Thrivent Card to buy Children’s Bibles to pass out. We’ll get more Thrivent Shirts with this Action Team and will check to see what sizes we are shortest on.
  • The Team will pitch in to buy candy.
• There will be no 4th Sunday Fellowship in July because of VBS. We need to set up a team for August. Dawn will reach out to CYF, Worship, and Women of the Church.
