2025 March NL: CYF Director’s Report

February 2025

Past events:
If you haven’t had the chance to check out our pictures from Winter Blast Youth Retreat, stop by the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall and check them out! We had tons of fun and plan to make this a yearly event.
We are still having Wednesday night Youth Bible study, but the Sunday Youth Bible study is proving hard to maintain as there are many Sundays with events held right after church. We are still holding the Bible study to see if we can’t grow it but this will be something to discuss for the future.

Events in the planning stage:
February is an intentionally quiet month. We purposely plan for 3 low-activity months a year so our CYF Team can rest and prepare for busier months. Our quiet months are February, June, and October.
The Sunday School kids are excited to be practicing a song to sing at the next 5th Sunday.
The next big event we are planning is the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on March 4.
We are also looking to have a coffee fundraiser again this spring.
We are planning a Prayer Weekend. It was such a wonderful time last year that we talked about making it an annual event.

Ideas for the future:
We are discussing other ways to fundraise to support our team. We are fortunate to have many people offer their Thrivent Action Teams but we also wish to fundraise. We already host a few dinners throughout the year (Annual Meeting Meal, Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, etc.) but we are looking into ways to fundraise that would bring in people from the greater Gillett area as well.
