2026 September NL: Stewardship & Evangelism Team Minutes

August 3 at 5:00 p.m.
Present: Mel Reichwald, Darrel Ruege, Ruth Boyd, Dawn Byars

Mel opened the meeting with a prayer.
Dawn read the minutes from the last meeting.

OLD BUSINESS

• Recap on 4th of July float and parade. Great event! Darrel sent Steve a Thank you and a gift card from the church (not asking for reimbursement). Steve did inform him that he has sold all but two of his trailers: a patriot themed one the Veterans use and one with a cow design on it. We’ll need to be aware of that for next year’s plans.
• Recap on the Ice Cream Social: we all felt really good about the reception of it. Having it in conjunction with the picnic is a definite great idea. We received $63 in donations and heard a lot of praise for the day as a whole. Robert Davis said he would be more than willing to come back and do it again next year. Mel did get him an OJ’s gift card (submitting for reimbursement) as a thank you.
  • Thoughts for next year (Dawn thought about this while typing up minutes). With Shane and the other officer joining us, it made me think that next year we should make sure we send an invite to the Police, Fire Stations, and EMTs.

NEW BUSINESS

• Oconto County Fair (August 27th – 30th)
  • We need to get a sign-up sheet for Booth Shifts out in the Narthex and an announcement to start being made on Sunday. Dawn will check in with Rachel on that.
  • Dawn is also checking in to make sure we have all the information we need on the Cross Giveaway sign up slips. We’ll use the information for our Christmas Services and Events Postcard.
  • Chris did get his Thrivent Card to order the Children’s Bibles. Will check in to see when those should arrive.
  • We have the Cross from Ruth Milhans for the sign up giveaway and Thrivent shirts.
  • Each member of the Stewardship and Evangelism team is going to bring a bag of candy to keep the table stocked.
  • We’ll set up at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 26th and tear down on Sunday at 3:00pm. We’ll bring the volleyball poles to hang the church banner and we’ll plan to hang the Thrivent Banner on the front of the table.
• 4th Sunday Fellowship
  • CYF has offered to take August and would like to have it August every year.
  • Dawn will check in with Rachel to see if we can get a sign up and an announcement to get teams assigned to the same month every year for 4th Sunday Fellowship.
