Council Minutes: July 16, 2024

Present: Marilyn Reichwald, Miles Winkler, Micki Carlson, Jerry Luther, Betty Jane Baranczyk, Pastor Chris Byars

1. Jerry called the meeting to order at 7:00pm

2. Marilyn led devotions

3. Motion to approve agenda with the following additions by Betty Jane Baranczyk, MSC
   a. Foam pieces in the fellowship hall for quieting purposes

4. Communications from attendees: Jerry Luther read the CYF Report

5. Motion to approve Secretary’s report by Marilyn, Miles, MSC

6. Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report by Miles, Marilyn, MSC

7. President’s Report: All is well!

8. Pastor’s Report

   a. Still working with Dan for online presence

   b. Still working with Betty Jane

9. Team items for Council action: none

10. Old Business

    a. Jerry will work on getting a replacement for Jon on Council

    b. Carillon: Miles gave a report and presented two estimates for a new unit
    c. Annual Gathering: Sharon Raatz will be the voting delegate. Mike & Nancy Stark would like to attend. Motion to let them use Choice Dollars for registration, transportation, and hotel by Micki, Miles, MSC.

11. New Business

    a. Church Picnic: all has been handled.

    b. Deb Pecha has resigned from the Finance Team and Jerry will ask around for a replacement.

    c. Betty Jane will take care of adding “Tech/Sound” to the Facility Use Contract.
    d. Discussion on the possible use of the Ruege Seminary Scholarship Fund to cover any part of the costs for Pastor Chris to work on his doctorate.

12. Discussion on getting foam squares to help with sound absorption in the Fellowship Hall: no action
