Council Minutes: September 17, 2024

Present: Jerry Luther, Marilyn Reichwald, Miles Winkler, Bill Block, Micki Carlson, Pastor Chris Byars

Guests: Erik & Rachel Knueppel

1. Jerry called the meeting to order at 7:00pm

2. Bill led devotions

3. Motion to approve agenda by Miles, Marilyn, MSC

4. Communications from attendees
   a. CYF: S’mores Night was amazing! They have 3 teaching teams for Sunday School so volunteers don’t get burnt out. Summer Splash was great! Harvest Fest will have a booth. They’re already working on a Christmas program and a regular Youth Bible study is being organized.

5. Motion to approve Secretary’s report by Marilyn, Miles, MSC

6. Treasurer’s Report: none, Betty Jane was ill

7. President’s Report: Two new furnaces and air conditioning unites will be installed soon, praise the Lord!

8. Pastor’s Report: “Becoming” new members class will begin September 18 and about seven people should be in attendance.

9. Team items for Council action:
   a. Property & Cemetery: repairs to cemetery fence will happen. Four sections were damaged and the insurance company has been in contact with Jerry.

10. Old Business
    a. Carillon: no action on looking into a new one as the current one is working for now.

11. New Business
    a. Approve Burr’s vacation request for October 18-November 4 by Marilyn, Bill, MSC
    b. Approve Rachel’s vacation request for September 26, October 17, and December 18 by Marilyn, Micki, MSC

12. Miscellaneous
    a. New Council Meeting Policy: Limit public input from members at Council meetings to 5 minutes length; Miles, Marilyn, MSC
